Any suggestions?

Here are the things I would like(but I am up for changing any of them of course):

Face between 40-44mm
Automatic(with glass back)
and I would love it to be a Limited Edition.

Are there many limited edition watches under £1000?I have always liked limited edition things.

Chronomaster list a Omega Speedy James Bond Ltd Edition, but it's £1395...

They also have an Oris TT3 Grand Prix, coming in under budget at £595, display back, eta movement, 48mm including crown, 44mm excluding. #1396 out of 1800

ETA - list on that Oris is £1k, so it's a pretty decent price all said!

That Omega is a beauty! I wish I could stretch that far, but tbh the £1000 is a stretch already.

I am not so keen on the Oris, but it is still nice.

Thanks for the help thumbup

I have been continuing to look and have found some Omegas for under £1000! I have found a Seamaster which I love the look of.

Stowa ? The Marine Original is a stunning watch for under the 1k mark. Nothing wrong with a hand wound movement.

You will always get a lot more for your money if you decide to opt for a second hand watch ... As others have said, you can't go wrong with an Omega! However the Seamasters and entry-level Speedmasters have solid case backs, but then again the argument is, when will you be looking at the back of your watch? tongue out

I'll throw in some ideas;

Stowa Seatime? 42mm, sapphire glass front and back, as well as a trusty ETA 2824-2 movement smile The Seatime has an excellent reputation amongst owners and is not a common watch! However the waiting times for delivery do vary, so check first before purchasing ...

Seatime Blue: 650Euro (+ 80Euro for bracelet) | Seatime: 730Euro with bracelet

Oris Kazuki Nakajima Limited Edition? 42mm, display back and 1/1088 pieces ... ~£880

I'll find some more ... biggrin

At 46mm it's a bit big, but a lovely looking watch all the same - The Glycine Incursore Black Jack;

Jura Watches have one down from £1,270 to £735 ... It's also 1/350 pieces, so very exclusive!

I like that, but 56mm across the lugs seems huge

+2, also have a look at the more obscure makes as well, like, as has been mentioned, Fortis, Damasko, Doxa, Stowa, Glycine, Kobold.

Thanks for everyone's contributions.

I am really liking that Stowa, it looks great and is not too expensive. And my other choice would be an Omega Seamaster, at a stretch.

I do wonder about getting a more mid-range watch(£500) and wait until I am earning more to spend such a huge amount of money on watch right now. Anyone have any thoughts?

The best advice I can give is to get the watch you prefer the most, otherwise you'll always pine for the one you really wanted! The Stowa and Seamaster are both excellent watches - Which do you prefer design wise? Perhaps there is another watch not yet mentioned that might be worth considering ... Steinhart maybe? smile
