I found a site with loads of them and started thinking, "What's the point in saving up for a £2k IWC?" And the answer is...
because they are lovely things to wear & own.

I have several inexpensive watches (and have had loads in the past) but like to have a few high quality pieces too. After all you wouldn't just buy the cheapest of everything unless you really had to would you? In which case 1 watch would be plenty.

For my money - Parnis are just yet another cheap looky likey brand. I'll pass thanks.

Are these watches waterproof? I'm looking for something cheap to knock about with on holiday.

There do seem to be some absolute bargains at the mo.

Love mine, seems to be a decent watch.

I personally don't mind the fact that the designs are look-a-likes. The fact that they are branded Parnis and not 'Rollex' means it's not embarassing at all.

They're not a fake, they've just imitated the best styling cues from other watches.

Every designer (be it watches, clothes, cars etc) has taken inspiration from somewhere.

Does anyone know where I can find one of the Panerai Luminor lookalikes? I really would like one of these for my holidays......

....and when I replace it with an actual Panerai on my birthday hopefully the missus won't notice ;o)

Parnis here: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/xiaosong12580_W0QQ_i...

TAO International here: http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/uswatchshop__W0QQ_ar...

I bought a TAO watch from US watchshop, arrived in 6 days, very impressed with the watch and the service from them.

..... I've had 3 watches off this guy - one broke after 3 weeks and was replaced with no arguements
http://www.jacksontse.com/homagehome.html (photos on the website are terrible)

They even custome build - e.g. my daughter wanted a Pan lookalike but the one she wanted was only in SS, but I wanted it in Titanium case (she's only 10 so SS would have been a bit heavy. They did it no problem). I also wanted one of mine with sapphire crystal and they did that as well.

hers but in titanium and now with pink croc strap. the carbon fibre look face is really good.

Thanks for the links guys. Out of the two brands TAO and Parnis. Which one would you go for? I'm leaning more towards the Parnis to be honest but wouldn't mind some advice either way.

I've bought one from Getat. It's on the high seas at the mo, so I can't show you, but he's rated too.

He'll sell you a sterile dial or an MM 'branded' one, and you can get something custom made if you want.

The missus has agreed to buy me one of these bad boys...... She probably wants something or broken something but for the time being this is a happy moment.

I'm looking at a few places now online and have stumbled across www.siswatch727.com who sell the Getat watch. Has anyone had any experience using these guys??

Last question. If you were to choose between a Parnis or Getat which would you choose and why?

I couldn't decide so I bought both (the joy of cheap watches biggrin). Both are in shipment at the moment, but I went Getat for the PAM-a-like and Parnis for the dress-a-like, because Getat don't do the dress style.
