Just wanted some thoughts on whether I am being unreasonable or potentially gullible....

Had a Baume & Mercier serviced by B&M last Autumn, collected it from the jewellers and put it away safely, (I only wear it occasionally). Went to wear it a couple of weeks ago for the first time and went to change the time (back to GMT)and the crown came straight out of the watch.... Not impressed.

I took it back to jewellers, returned to B&M, they are claiming excessive force has been used and want another £175 to fix and give it another full service. I am not in the habit of ripping crowns out of watches and have managed not to do until now....

Now I know I probably should have checked it when I collected it, however owing to a busy existence I didn't...

Should I stump up the cash or create a stink?

Create a stink, then go elsewhere if you cant make satisfactory progress.
