Hi!

I am turning 21 next month and my parents really want to buy me a watch, I have no idea what would be a good watch to buy!

The price limit is £150, if you could suggest me some suitable watches at that price it would be much appreciated!

I am just looking for ideas and advice really as to be honest with you I am pretty clueless with watches!

Cheers

The obvious answer is a Seiko automatic diver.

IMO an automatic/mechanical has much more of a sense of occasion - which is what you want for an event such as your 21st. I just don't have the same sense of attachment and amazement to electronic watches. They do have their place though.

A good quality Seiko diver will do the job, but perhaps you might want a display back to show off the inners (otherwise it's just a watch that doesn't tell time accurately and stops a lot) unless you can appreciate what's hidden inside.

I have since gone off the casio, as you mentioned, it is not really the right type of watch for the occasion. I am now drawn to the Emporio Armani 'style', something along these lines, http://www.watchshop.com/mens-emporio-armani-watch...

Id recommend a seiko kinetic (my kinetic which has now retired, ie its on my desk at home, kept going for nearly 10 years without need for a new battery or any servicing and kept good time) for accuracy or an auto for the sense of occasion.

Thing is, does a Rolex accelerate better and corner harder?
