I have been left a rolex watch by my late mother and i was thinking of maybe selling it because it is of no use to me, but i dont know anything about it really and i was wondering if anybody could tell me anything about it.
I know the model number which is 6516 and i also know the serial number.
I would like to know the age of the watch, what metal the strap is and what kind of strap it is if possible or how to find out myself.
and also what would a good price be for me to be looking for.

thanks for any response

It's a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Lady Date. It's probably worth getting it serviced by Rolex to bring it up to scratch......should cost circa £250. It will come back(eventually!) looking like new. You can look up the details of the watch here if you know the serial no.

get it checked out by rolex using the serial numbers located inside the case..

either sell it privately, (rolex forum, ebay, etc) or to a dealer..

i have seen the mens going for as little as 1100 so i may have overestimated my 1300

As he said above - try your luck with eBay or some of the watch forums. Or you could try the PH classifieds.
