It's a Citizen Eco Drive and it needs the NiMh cell replacing.

I've taken the plate off the back but it's all solid underneath.

I think it comes apart by taking off the bezel but I don't want to 'muscle' it before being sure.

Are you sure that solid bit underneath does not lift up? whats the point on have a removeable back if you cant do anything there.

can you take the back off again and take a pic?

Yeah, seems a bit odd. I doubt removing the bezel will gain access to the battery area.

OK so I got off my arse and Googled it.

It's a 'front loader' (titter ye not) so I took the bezel off with a knife and ordered a new rechargable cell for £12.

Now I've just got to work out how to get the glass off.

It's either screwed or pressed into the case.

Any watch repair PH types here able to help?

Well, that's us wrong, then. biggrin

Ask your local watch fixer. If it's as simple as that, he's probably done it before and won't charge whatever Citizen would charge.
