Been hunting for a JLC master compressor chrono for my 40th next week, been offered one of the "46" Valentino Rossi specials, i actually quite like it but just wondered how this sort of thing is viewed on a quality watch such as this, ok or a bit gimmicky?

Personally I wouldn't unless you are a big Rossi fan. There are much lovelier JLC's available IMO of course smile

Yeah that was pretty much what I was thinking, i'm not a major fan, just like the watch generally

It's quite subtle though isn't it? Apart from the big '46' on the caseback, that is.

Rossi is a legend, so if you have any interest in bike racing then I'd go for it smile May be worth a few quid more 10 years down the line too...

It seems a bit show-offy to me for a JLC, which may limit its appeal.

Still a nice looking watch though.

Possibly more likely to be like this

The one you posted was the World Extreme job. Tried the non-Doctor one of these but was too chunky/clunky design wise for me. The std chrono versions are neater IMO.

Yes that's the one, i like the watch I just can't help but feel the rossi connection is a bit like the james bond seamaster thing......naff, its not a cheap watch so I don't want to buy one and regret it, think i'd prefer a standard one

How much was it?

I've just seen a JLC Rossi 46 in a shop North of the border for £1600 off list price as there's no box.

ETA: Just noticed from Blowers that there's at least 2 different Rossi JLC special editions..... Unusual??
