Jones Ernest vouchers

A friend has about £1,300 in vouchers for this store - he's looking for a daily wearer type of watch that's both 'honest' in watchmaker terms and as at ease with a suit or jeans.

I've had a quick butchers on 'net, the best thing I can propose is the Seamaster 300m quartz 41mm in black, as I suppose with vouchers they've got you over a barrel discount-wise?

Seems a bit of a faff having a limited choice (via vouchers), hope they don't do that with mine if I get 'buggerlarized'.

I would imagine so.

The SMP would be my suggestion as well, or Tag Carrera maybe? I know Goldsmiths are doing some deals on them (at £1450) so maybe EJ will follow suit?

Paying in vouchers shouldn't affect the agreed price, after all its academic to them and if you paid on CC they'd have to pay handling fee's.
However once they know you are paying in vouchers they will not budge on price, why would they.

£1,300 in vouchers? Given that the damn things are never quite worth face value when compared to solid cash and the potential for discounts, why would anyone have so much?

Not quite right. Signet Group will have already given the Ins Companies a chunky discount to ensure that all they get all the agreed claims. I'm pretty sure that it's in the terms and conditions accompanying the card.
You're effectively exchanging credit for goods, so EJ would have no interest in discounting with a captive buyer.....

I had vouchers after an insurance claim....came home to an empty house, but that's another story!....I negotiated on the price of my watch then paid them in vouchers, was no problem.

I like the 'negotiate first, pay after' scenario, I'll pass that on. It was a burglary and the vouchers were to make up for the watches that went, nothing special but accumulated expense nonetheless.

I think I'll be checking my policy though, named items and pictures needed I think...

I bought an Omega through EJ using insurance vouchers a few years ago. I got a 10% discount even using the vouchers - so make sure you ask, all they can say is 'no'.

You can buy a Hamilton significantly cheaper elsewhere

Omega, no question.

There's a reason why they're so popular, tough, rugged and a daily-wearer that looks good with smart or casual.
I've thought about selling mine, I don't think I will though!

I picked my Carrera up from there in the January sales a couple of years ago for £1300. The sales have been pants since.
