Selling Cartier in the US

Hi Chaps,
Not sure if this is the right forum but here goes...
Girlfriend has a Cartier Love ring she wants to sell (one of the limited addition ones with black ceramic and diamonds RRP £5600) and reckons there's a bigger demand in the US and hence she'll be able to sell it for more than in the UK.
We're off to Miami next month and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this and if they could recommend any jewellers in Miami who would be good to make contact with.
My view if because of the exchange rate and currency commission charges it's a non starter.
