You just have to keep trying. I have been a member for a little while but it took a while to register. I was fairly close to telling them to sod off, if they didn't want me I certainly didn't want them but I'm glad I didn't.

Mostly there a decent bunch and certainly knowledgeable and I would say as "safe" to deal with as you will find on the net. On the odd occasion someone crosses the line they get a hard time.

I would find it difficult if I couldn't see the sales pages - that was why I started as I wanted a particular watch and didn't trust ebay. 50 posts is easy is you are genuinely interested, if not there's always the general forum. Worth a bit of effort I think, if you can get in.

I think it's 25 posts to view the SC, but 50 to post in it.

At least that's what it was like with me. You can still send pm's though which is good.

It strikes me as quantity over quality, and posting for the sake of posting. I guess there's logic behind it. Not one I get.
Easy: you post 50 crap posts and your account gets deleted. hehe You can spot them... "Nice." "Want one." "Got one like that." In an hour there's 50 posts and bam... a Rolex for sale is their 51st post.

To be fair, as there a a few high value pieces traded/sold, I think that it's only fair that new posters are encouraged to contribute to the forum overall, it helps that there's a heroes and villains section too. I'm not one for posting lots, but have bought/sold a few bits there, and it gives a bit of reassurance that the majority of posters are there because they have an interest, rather than want to make a quick buck.

How the hell do you register on TZ-UK?

I fully and totally understand and appreciate why registration is 'publicly' closed - but anyone got any clues?

There's obviously a way - as there are newbies signing up every day.
I noticed you managed to get on in the end then.

Better get posting now laugh

I think as long as you don't post 50 one word replies in a few hours, and then list a Rolex or similar with no photos and a dodgy description you should be fine laugh

yes

Just post as you would any other forum with no intention to rack up posts. Quite a few TZ-UKers are PHers...

My experience of TZ is a good place to trade but not great to buy. A lot of watches on sales corner are at unrealistic prices which does not matter if you are trading and the spread is OK but the stuff offered straight for sale hangs around quite a bit and rarely any real bargains to be had.

Really? I've found the prices to be very reasonable compared to dealer prices... and I would never buy anything from ebay if that's the source of prices you had in mind.

I enjoy tz-uk, there's a wealth of information and i've come across a lot of brands I'd never heard of before. I've been quite restrained on sales corner but I've still managed to pick up a couple.

Could not agree less.

Bought loads, sold loads - mostly within 24 hours of listing, only traded once.

There was a thread on TZ covering pricing on Sales Corner recently. The general consensus seemed to be that if something was overpriced, then an offer may be the way forward, despite some posters over there being a bit 'precious' about lowballs.

There are lots of members there who are very sensitive about offers and pricing has been excessive there for a while now albeit obviously those that are sensible manage to do deals. I am certainly not talking Ebay, but when you see prices you know you can beat from AD's then something is wrong, but guess like anything it comes back to how good you are at knowing the best places to buy
