IWC Chrono buttons - anyone else had one pop off?
Discussion
Have a chrono automatic, and a portugeuse
The chrono is my day to day watch as a bit more robust, however the top chrono button popped off 2 months ago, with IWC eventually agreeing to repair FOC. I have had the watch back c. 1 month, and whilst sat on the sofa yesterday afternoon noticed the button had gone again. It literally must have come off from brushing on my pocket or something like that
I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and what did you do with regards to the IWC? Considering my day to day watch is clearly quite fragile, im a little concerned about wearing the more delicate portugese!

Hi,
I was thinking of a Portofino Chrono as opposed to an Omega seamaster, do any of you think the Portofino would be suitable as a daily wear watch?
Thanks.
I've worn a Portofino every day for the last 3.5 years with no problems at all and it still looks fantastic, seems pretty resiliant to knocks from my experience.I was thinking of a Portofino Chrono as opposed to an Omega seamaster, do any of you think the Portofino would be suitable as a daily wear watch?

Leather strap though, in my experience leather straps on everyday watches tend to get a bit wiffy after a while (or is that just me?)When you hold the two side by side although the Portofino is a lovely looking watch, the Seamaster is simply in a different league as far as the ability to take the knocks and bumps of everyday wear. I've a Titanium Seamaster and it's been on my wrist almost constantly for the last 10 years and still looks good, I've had weld spatter landing on the face and bits of bricks bouncing off it as I've chisseled walls and nothing has left a mark. Ironically the only times I take it off are to wear my Portofino when going out for the evening, I have however worn the Porto daily once when my Omega was in for a service for a couple of weeks and was a lot more aware of it getting damaged. I guess really the true question is strap or bracelet as tha'll be what it boils down to when deciding on a daily wearer.

Yeah it's just you mines smells fine.As for the suitablility for daily wear I'd probably agree that I wouldn't do building work in mine, but as I'm bound to a desk it isn't an issue.
There's not too much weld splatter or bricks flying around here, although quite a lot of BS, but it seems survive that!
