Hi

I am on the process of probably buying the following brand new. The RRP that is being quoted is aprrox £7200.

Its the PASHA XL CHRONOGRAPH WATCH

http://www.cartier.com/show-me/timepieces/w3108555...

Will Cartier entertain a discount or if I walk into Harrods or Selfridges will they be willing to negotiate.

P.S Any other suggestions for watches in this price range? It has to be brand new.
Just my opinion, but that's really not very nice. £7K too! Are you sure? That sort of budget opens up all sorts of options. You could buy 2 or 3 very nice watches with that sort of budget.

As i said just my opinion....
I have thought about that but as its a present form my in-laws it cant really ask them to buy 2 or 3 watches instead.

Get what you like.

No watch (or anything else for that matter) is good value when bought new, just think of all the profit margins and taxes etc that go into the asking price.

Cartier are now so much more than a watch brand and that harms their rep with some of the watch snobs but Cartier played a huge part in the development of the wrist watch.

Cartier has three key ranges (Santos, Pacha and Tank) each of them has a superb story behind the design, a real reason behind their existence.

As an aside - I was in Costco today and they had a couple of different Pacha's in the jewelry cabinet (and rather tasty JLC Reverso's for both men and women).

i would bet the margin on cartiers is at least 100% so 25-30%discount
should be possible..
buy it if you want to buy jewellery..
if you want a watch then imo you should be looking elsewhere..maybe ap,iwc,zenith,brequet,vacheron..and dare i say it..rolex..
