Dornbluth or...?
Discussion
Damn - I knew this forum would cost me lots of money when I first saw it
Anyway, I'd like to add to my collection with a nice plain dress watch to wear with a suit, and originally fell for the Stowa Marine Original in white, however I've now got my eyes set on one of these either with the black strap shown, or a golden brown strap.
I've also seen a few others that I really like, and they are now high on my ever expanding "must have" list, for example the IWC Portugese and Nomus Glashutte Zurich, however what draws me to the Dornbluth is the fact they are custom made to order by hand by a father and son, and it's that which really appeals. Probably why I bought a TVR rather than Porsche...
Anyway, does anyone have any experience of them? Am I likely to be disappointed, and have I missed any alternatives?

A beautiful time piece and I agree, there's something about having something hand made for you . . . which you won't get from IWC, or at least not in the same way. I've a Stowa MO which I wear most days when I'm at work or at least wearing shirt with cuff's and it never ceases to please me or other people looking at it and if there wasn't an ever extending list of other watches to own I'd add a black faced version as well . .
I really like the black faced version as pictured, a design classic.
One day . . . .

I see you're determined to make me spend even more money Matt
Very nice watches - I prefer the Dornbluth to the Stowa, and the other two remind me of the Nomos Zurich which I really like but I see something like that in white as an addition to the Dornbluth rather than an alternative.
