No offence taken, and no offence in return, think you might be confused - I'd pay 3500 to Rolex for a pvd sub (if they did one) but not the 10k that Bamford/Rolex would charge. In my mind the 10k Bamford/Rolex charge is a bit of a joke so purely on principle I wouldn't, as you say, just for a paint job.

Why not buy a s/h Sub for £2 to £3k, get it serviced by Rolex (if it's not been done for a few years) & then get it PVD'd yourself.

Yeah, spending 10k on a bamford sub is just lunacy IMO. Finding an old sub and having it PVD'd might be a good way to go, but need to buy a house next year so it'll have to wait!
