Hi All:
I'm a girl, age twentish.
Recently I'm falling in love in self-winding watches, and really want to get one.
I'm thinking to buy Gents Auto and having the strap adjustment,
but not really sure would it look nice on me,
because my wrist is very slim, and I'm looked very girly.
I need everyone's suggestion! Should I get a Gents or uni-sex watch?
If so, can anyone give me some options?
My budget is around £1000, it's my first mechanical watch for the exerience, so don't want to spend too much on it.

my back up option is Longines Evidenza Ladies, but I need more choices to compare.

Meanwhile, does anyone know a good shopping place in London? I somehow feel the prices in Selfridges are too expensive.....I'm looking for a good bargain for the best watch.

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Go to Jura Watches & check out the Sinn 556 and 656 in the flesh
+ Check out Nomos watches via http://www.chronomaster.co.uk/nomos_watches.htm

Neil will usually do a sale with with refund if you buy & watch & then send it back straight away with no damage.

Hiya,

What a refreshing change to see a lady taking an interest in this hobby!

I would recommend you look at a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date. These are 34mm - so will be fine on you, but are a proper Rolex. What is more, if you know the right place to look you can get one for your budget.

Suspect that might be a challenge for a newcomer to watches. Care to help the lady out in a bit more detail?

What style do you like?

If you're in London, you could try Austin Kaye in the Strand. You could get something pre-owned that was worth a lot more.

I like something simeple but elegant, or like chronograph type with the leather strap.
but as the part of the strap I can just buy one and ask for exchange, so it's not a big deal.
Also, it would be better to have the date on the watch.

thanks everyone's help!!!

You tried looking at some second hand watch shops? I saw one in Guildford high street a month or two ago, some are practically unused and you can pick up Womens Omega Seamasters for around that price..

Can you get a gents oyster for under a grand? Old ones look good on 'hot girls', whatever they are whistle

Sure, but maybe she prefers smaller watches. Hard to say as she mentions ladies' watches one moment then chronographs the next (which are generally bigger).

Also at Jura.

How about an Oris Big Crown? Very solid watches and a good size/style compromise between typical gents and ladies offerings. Bought my GF one earlier this year and it hasn't been off her wrist since.

Then she must buy a smaller gent's watch. wink
A Blue Mako would be worth a look.

In fact, I prefer bigger watch, only not sure would it be awkward if a girl wearing gent's watch?

How big? Stupidly big or just slightly larger than a ladies' watch? I saw a woman wearing a Speedmaster a while ago, not dangled like a bracelet but worn properly and it suited her well.

My missus has a 42mm Chrono and she has very thin wrists.
