Having fancied a Railmaster for a few years, I've finally parted with some of my hard earned and bought an "Omega Seamaster Railmaster Chronometer"... snappy eh?

2802.52.37 for the model number geeks... 41mm to the rest of us hehe

A couple of library pictures as I can't be bothered to get the camera out...

... it's a lovely piece, complete with display back, and beautifully simple.

Purchased via Dominic H, after my usual routes didn't seem to want to sell me the bloody thing. Can't fault Dominic's service. Watch was ready for collection 2 days before he originally stated, kept me updated at all times and having met him this afternoon, he's a thoroughly decent chap too. smile

If you're in the market for a watch, I'd highly recommend giving him a call / dropping him a mail.

Lovely looking watch, Podie smile I do like the uncluttered dial of the Railmaster ... Be sure to post up some pics (esp. the display back!) and enjoy wearing it! thumbup

Top quality watch, nice and simple dial which I like. Dom has been involved in a lot of PH watch deals and every one seems to come away happy, including me, top bloke.

I bought one of these for my brother - quid pro quo for the AquaTerra that he bought me - and I think they're very smart: there's a real sense of depth to them.

There's also just a smidge of Timex 'My First Watch', but I think I like that, too.

nice watch...

With my tesco leveraged goldsmith vouchers in the post it is either one of these of a Seamaster GMT this weekend.

like it a lot but maybe erring to the GMT... did you ever look at/into the XXL at 49mm? Is it just too large?

Physprof - looked at the XXL, which I think is the pick of the range, but it's just too big. You need to be of a big build to carry it off. I just looked like Flavor Flave hehe I did consider the version with the 3 sub-dials, but it didn't look quite right in the metal.

Nick F - it is simple, but I love the clean lines... huge contrast to my Breitling Navitimer!

Was reading up on the history of the model recently, which goes some way to explaining the big clear dials.

Nice watch Podie, I quite like the silver faced ones also.

Did you get it with the bracelet or leather strap?

Well unfortunately I fall into the category as per the Blackadder skit....

hehe

Was just too big more me. I need more pie! lick

Stovey - as the picture. Went for the brown leather strap. Comes with a deployment clasp, which is nice.

I have a Breitling Aerospace Ti on a metal bracelet, and a TAG Carrera too. Then have this and the Navitimer on leather straps with deployment clasps.

New job is fantastic thanks.

The Railmaster is a "leaving present" from the previous employer... ;-)

Lovely watch; as you say, 'beautifully simple'.

I tried on a white gold version in the Omega shop on Bond Street a few years ago. Very, very tempting but thankfully reason prevailed and the credit card remained unexercised.

Ahem..deployant clasp

You'll be posting pics of the Aerospace with the bezel just off centre next wink

PH Watch forum - Horological pedantry matters.

P.S - hope you're liking it. Wrist shot?
