The 'respected but rarely discussed brands' thread
Discussion
On this forum there is a lot of discussion about Rolex, Omega, Breitling and the like, but after a recent flight required a bit of reading I picked up a copy of International Watch magazine. Ignore the quality of the journalism, its like a big comic for watch loving adults. What i noticed on perusing the mag was there were a large number of watch brands we never really discuss, some of which looked quality.
Starting at the upper end there was Richard Mille - beautiful, but extremely expensive, and surprisingly not very old (i think).
Then i noticed some particularly lovely pieces by Jean Richard, followed by intriuging David Yurman, bit more on Breguet and Officina Del Tempo and Greubel Forsey, not to mention Concord.
I'll try and get some pics up but feel free to discuss as theres a whole word of watches out there rarely discussed.

I believe Richard Mille and Greubel Forsey, among others, are rarely mentioned on here due to the high price bracket of their 'entry' models ... Rolex, Omega and Breitling are realistically obtainable by many and therefore a greater number of topics revolve around these manufacturers, as they are more likely to be the 'next purchase'
Ball are rarely discussed, but have a large following in the US - They are increasing in popularity over this side of the pond, especially now that Ernest Jones are stocking their range. AP watches are rarely mentioned, but perhaps the above applies ... I'm sure there are a few members on here with AP watches, although there are likely to be more AP owners on TZ-UK

Great brands mentioned,
Breguet, AP and A. Lange Sohne are all awesome. Let's not forget brands such as Glashutte or Franck Muller (the latter I know are not as respected but I like them )
I have a particularly soft spot for Ulysse Nardin. I have a blue max and it's perfect

And the Ferrari 250 GTO of watchmakers (similar numbers actually, although the work of a lifetime)
