How long is the waiting list? I wonder if it'll be another Daytona, with lots of people paying over the odds to receive one as soon as possible ... wink

There's a West London based non-AD that already has one for sale on their website for almost 1400 quid above list price.......

Haha, good luck. As said they're being sold my non-ADs for over list as it is, for example:

They did this with the Milgauss. It can regularly be seen in the AD's windows now. Doh! frown

+1. I guess that Rolex are trying to keep up with the fashion for bigger and bigger watches, but I don't understand why they've felt the need to update this, the SD or the Daytona to, as far as I can see, the aesthetic detriment of the range.

I suppose that Rolex should be applauded for not "doing a Heuer" and trading heavily on heritage. AFAIK they've never done a carbon copy reissue, even if they have kept their iconic models in the current range?

I have a Sub and the GMT II Ceramic and would have to say that the new GMT is great - some years ago I had a steel and gold GMT (a bit Jimmy Saville I will admit)and much prefer the current model. I know that some don't like the slightly bigger case etc but in the flesh the ceramic model looks like a step forward to me. I particularly like the new bracelet.

What I certainly do not get however is the price hike of circa £800. £4600 or there abouts is alot of money. Makes me wonder what they will do with the price of the GMT. Anyone know what that will be going up too?

As for discount I suspect that if you have a relationship with your AD, and they have the stock, a discount should be achievable. That said I have always flipped when purchasing something else new. That said I would expect to get 5% on the new model. Walking in somewhere, particularly a national chain is, I suspect, unlikely going to get you any joy.
