^^ My dad said the same about the Rolex he nearly bought whilst working in the Middle East (he was looking at either a GMT Master or a Submariner) in the 80s, he said it would have been the equivalent of around £500.
He decided not to buy and has forever regretted it, especially so when I showed him how much a 5513 was worth nowadays!

Isn't hindsight wonderfull, I had a BSA 650 cc Clubmans Lightning, cost £180 around 68, it was a 65 plate, sold it on. NOW I find out it is now a classic, only around 200 were made

The green looks nice - ao thats about 500 over list....not bad considering a dealer in liverpool street has it up for 6250
