Thanks for the link, I enjoyed that.

I've got the taste for my first 'proper' watch. I would love a Rolex Submariner but it's a bit out of reach at the moment. What watch would the PH watch experts recommend as a first respectable watch for up to or around £1k?

I fancied one of those gshock dw-5000cs until I looked on eBay and saw they go for around £600.

Hi, for your price range of £1k (possibly £200 more) you should be able to purchase a secondhand manual Omega Speedmaster Professional with box and papers, a great iconic watch that appears on this list and is a classic.
