I didn't think they wore them on the race itself, mind you, Nadal manages OK I suppose.

correct me if i'm wrong, but drivers were banned from wearing watches whilst racing (F1) a few years ago as a safety issue and could be fined 15k if were caught, hence you see drivers putting on their sponsered watches on prior to walking onto the podium.

Indeed...I'm fairly sure they don't wear a watch during the race...it's funny seeing them put on their watches for their sponsors as they get ready to get on the podiuim.
