Cheap fakes have base Chinese movements, pricier ones have ETAs. No, they are not Swiss but made in China, but learn how to service any of the 'clone' ETAs and you'll be able to service a Swiss real one.
Probably best to start with a basic handwind though. Have you checked out the TimeZone Watch School?
