Why? I saw a ceramic sub in the window of an AD the other day, they aren't exactly gold dust.
That must be rare though surely? I have spoken to 3 AD's and they all say they have between 8-10 people on their lists and eta 18-24 months wait. I've been talking to dealers in Sussex and Leeds.I don't remember the name of the place, but an AD in Nantwich town centre had, amongst others, in the window:
submariner (non ceramic)
submariner bi-metal
deep sea sea dweller
submariner ceramic
I've not seen one in the flesh before, but the price was correct, it was next to a non-ceramic which was at a lower price and it was smaller than a sea dweller.
edit: they're called CH Moody and son.

Don't know about the UK but the ceramic sub is available at jewellers all over the US.
Think this is going to be like the deepsea- a lot of hype and premiums at first then people realising they aren't worth it...........
As an aside my favourite AD in Houston still has a 16600 SD sat in it's window at list and offerend me a 5% discount

I just can't get over how many price rises Rolex have gone through over the last couple of years.
Looking at what I paid 3yrs ago, some watches are almost 50% more and I know I paid 25%+ more than a couple of years before...
So, could then have doubled in the last 5 years or so? Mental!
Agreed. I've just had my Lady Datejust re-valued as I noticed one the same spec as mine in the Ernest Jones for nearly £2.5k more than I paid for it. I was in shock and under-insured!Looking at what I paid 3yrs ago, some watches are almost 50% more and I know I paid 25%+ more than a couple of years before...

I love my watch and wear it every day but i'm not sure i'd buy one at the prices being banded round today. They've gone from quite expensive to slightly ludricrous!

I really struggle to believe these are sitting out there in shop windows..... Happy to be proved wrong but I'd need to see a photo to believe it, that or a dealers phone number please!
I said I was happy to be proved wrong and i was.....Disco You was spot on, there it was in their window - thanks. I've rung another couple of dealers and it does seem some don't/won't take lists and deposits whereas othere are more than happy to hold unlimited deposits. I guess if you find a dealer without lists you may just get lucky?
I see the ceramic LV on ebay is over list already.
