I'd never walk past Omega to get to the Breitling models... I just cannot make myself like the Breitling 'thing' .

When I think Breitling I think of 'mens mags' from the eighties and the adverts to 'buy now, pay x deposit and 36 easy repayments'.

That's how I bought my first Omega Speedmaster. But I was only 19!

I have a box full of both. They have their good points and their bad points. It used to be the case that Omega, in general represented good value for money. Not any more though, and, compared to Breitling, their servicing of watches is a joke, both in terms of pricing and in terms of doing what the customer asks. If you have a spare couple of hours to read it, I'll write about how they fked up a battery change on my SMP Quartz. And tried to charge me £400 for doing it.

I have been waiting 16 weeks for Omega to service my Planet Ocean. I expect that Mercedes could have built me a car to my exact spec. in similar time. How did they screw up a battery change?

Hi

Podie - I already spoke to Domminic at the beginning of this year to get a ball park smile
ShadownINja - Omega 1 Breitling 0 smile
Gaffer - Go for it! (It's always easy to spend someone else's money)
Podie - Can't afford both dude... if I could, honestly, I'd continue to save up for one of these cloud9cloud9cloud9
IWC Portuguese F.A. Jones
Dr G - thumbup pics man pics!
andy tims - Thanks, Mrs. FatVik made me try one on and the quality seemed up to par with the navitimer I have
LordGrover - Sorry m'lord; My Tissot and my Navitimer were a present from Mrs. FV so I would not be happy to part with these.. the only other watch I have is a Casio G-Shock but I don't think you'd be up for that hehe
clarkee200 - Yep, that's the one. Thanks for the pic.
carter711 - Omega 3 Breitling 0 hehe
bry1975 - Yep, I am registered on there; however, the 25 post rule upsets me - I cannot bring myself to post pointlessly to get the counts up
Nolar Dog - Thank you smile Omega 4 Breitling 0
Disco You - <tips hat> thank you. Omega 5 Breitling 0
Riff Raff - thumbup good pics, the Aqua Terra is a favourite of mine but my skinny wrists do not do it justice

.. I have just ordered a Planet Ocean,large size on a stainless steel strap with
black bezel and orange numbers.

I ordered it over the Breitling because I thought the Breitling was a little too 'bling' for want of a better word.

PO is a bit common imho. Whilst I am not normally a fan of BreitBlings, the SuperOcean looks great as a daily diver.

@carter711 - its the 42mm
@spareparts - someone described the PO as a German diesel car, bulletproof but lacking imagination & Dom H described it as a watch that you put on and forget about.... so very differing opinions on the PO smile This is going to be my daily watch biggrin
@The real Apache pics!

and a shot of the collection so far (taken hurriedly) wink
