You've had a few Bry?

I think they're great.. but then like many I am a Seiko fanboy, even if I only own a Monster.

I quite liked the Chronosport UDT ani-digis, same movement as in some Breitlings I think. Late '70's:

Reminds me a bit of this Breitling issued the Iraqi airforce late 70s early 80's maybe.

Yup - same movement.

I've had loads of H558s and H601s in! The H558s and H601 are getting like the 6309 and 7002 parts are being remade like replacement shrouds, bezel inserts hell even tasty domed sapphire glasses.

Yep I know that Iraqi Breitling had to fix one with a dodgy quartz module some years back.

FYI quite a few Swiss brands have used Seiko and even Citizen quartz modules in the past not going to mention any brand names here. IMO Seiko have made some very good and even over engineered quartz modules in past.

Nowt wrong with the Monsters Gompo they have so many custom parts available, like tasty new style hands, dials, sapphires, chapter rings they also look good PVDED.

Nice stuff Bry!

I don't own the "Arnie" but its close "cousins".

This one is in fantastic condition with totally intact shroud and original screws, a H601-5480:

This is a H601-8081 which I wear quite often as I think it's brilliant! Especially on the oversized NATO. smile

Thanks Nolar,

The H601 is a nice watch and is slightly larger than the H558 IMO you can't go wrong with the quartz ana-digis.

Every thought of a tasty Ar blue sapphire for the H601? biggrin

It'll go for a service anyway, and probably get these put on that are coming as well:

You are right of course - I'm going to keep this one standard though. I am tempted to get a second one and have it modded, but I think it'd be wiser to get something different first. I was trying to get a female friend to purchase a 'mini' Monster but it's too masculine for her unfortunatey. I'd like a 'Tuna' next but deep down I should get something none-Seiko.

Other than that shot and a few other "wears" I hardly ever take it out of its box so it wouldn't be worth it.

I just emailed you about some bead blasting but I forgot to also ask about fitting a new AR glass to my Tuna. I have the glass here. When you reply could you let me know if you'd do it please? wink

Thanks.

The old shrouds are prone to breaking luckily a few clever chaps have reverse engineered some replacement shrouds made out of ally which I'm told fit very well and look brilliant.

I think the H601 shroud diameter is around 46-47mm won't be anymore.
