Snoopy for me.
I'd love one, but as mentioned they're going up and up in value; it's obviously a well liked LE.
What sort of price are they fetching at the moment?I'd love one, but as mentioned they're going up and up in value; it's obviously a well liked LE.
Wearing mine today, and haven't felt like wearing anything else for the past couple of months. I think that they are very versatile - they look worn casually or formally, look terrific on a NATO and I love the design and history. I don't really buy into the culture of endless LEs to be honest. The only compromise I was prepared to make on the original was the sapphire back and face, but apart from that I went original.
I will get one soon too. Has anyone had any experience of the Cordura strap? It seems quite rare, but I really like it on the Date (http://www.omegawatches.com/gents/speedmaster/date/32332404006001).
Is the Professional the same as the Date aside from the obvious? Also, is it worth spending extra for the Co-Axial models?

^^ Pretty much what I've seen.
£2k for a well-used example, £2.5k for a nice one and upwards for like new or brand new. A guy had one on fleabay a while back for £3k and by the pics it looked almost brand new.
They're nice, but I'm not sure if I want one that much.

It's the only LE Speedie that appealed to me - had a proper story behind it.
I've had two, the 'Reduced' and a white / blue 'Broad Arrow', so not the Moonwatch models
I went for the Reduced as I wanted an auto but after wear it felt (not surprisingly) on the small side at around 36mm.
The Broad Arrow is not particularly sought after - costs around £3500 new but around £1500 second hand. I've had mine six months and it's been flawless. I like the white face and it has a date function.
General wisdom is to buy on a bracelet as switching to one later costs hundreds.
The two button 'deployant' clasp is better given the choice. Some models (e.g. the cheapest Reduced) have a simple pull clasp which feels cheap.
The 'Professional' models generally hold their value best.
IMO the Navitimer, Speedie and Daytona are the iconic chronos, even above more expensive stuff like the Audermars ROO and IWC Portugese
