Hello-

Sent my Planet Ocean off today for it's first service having worn it daily for coming on 6 years.... Not looking forward to the bill!

My wrist feels rather empty and as it will be a few weeks before the Seamaster is back, I am tempted to treat myself to something different.

I am currently wearing my Patek Phillipe (£16 from Beijing!) that hasn't been worn for nearly 3 years and I am fairly amazed that it works- so keen to sort something out quickly before it breaks...

So, what to get:
Budget = £300 (MAX!)
Non bracelet strap
I absolutely love IWC type designs
Not interested in designer brands- I want something that will last & wont date.
Must admit I like the look of Jorg Gray 6500...

What about Hamilton & Christopher Ward or anything else.

Open to suggestions....

Cheers!

Christopher Ward would probably get my vote at that price point.

£230

or:

C3 Malvern Chronograph - Tan

£180

or:

C8 Pilot Mk II - Black

The DBR1 arrived just before lunch... I only have weedy little wrists and at 42mm (IIRC) it looks pretty good:

I have a quartz C3 malvern black. Nothing wrong with it, in fact it's very nice. It gets little wrist time though - not sure why.

If you had £300 to spend and wanted a watch in the style of the Christopher Ward Pilot 8 MkII - would you chose the Christopher Ward or the Archimede Pilot: https://www.jurawatches.co.uk/Archimede/Pilot/Pilo...

Have two Christopher Wards, a C7 and a C2LE, both seem well made and sit well on the wrist.
Would happily buy another CW based on my dealings with them so far.

What about something interesting like an old Bulova Accutron? There's loads on ebay at a variety of prices. Every man should own a hummer at some point.

Or one of these lovelies.......

Looking at a Tissot PRC200 chrono atm. Great looking watch IMHO. Can be had for under £200 on a strap and cheaper still sans chrono... smile

Have a look at the Tissot Heritage Visodate. Black face and black strap can be had for a notch over £300. Here's a link but the picture doesn't do it justice.
