The farm 30 seconds from our house has one the same smile
I keep meaning to try and catch them out at night harvesting, I imagine you could get some excellent shots with all the lights on and dust

They are a fantastic machine are the Lesbians! I've seen loads this harvest, way more than i can remember working locally from over the past couple of seasons.

I snapped a brand new 770 Lexion with the 40ft cut on working a few weeks back. Pure beast! Took 3 rows of swathed Rape down its neck in one pass! cool

I wouldn't mind doing a few sunset/night time harvesting shots either. Might give it a go soon...

Hi Andy, sorry for the late reply!...

Yeah, it felt good to have a decent sesh there again smile

That road has been amazing to watch the past couple of days! Lost count of how many truly decent trucks and loads i've seen plus other stuff (Saw 3 RLC Bomb Disposal wagons go south this afternoon along with a big police presence over both lanes!...) But theres 2 that i'm extremely pleased with in particular -

My first spot and phot for one of Stobarts nifty little Volvo FM Gas Trucks (Runs on both conventional diesel and liquid Natural Gas) This one is H4628, Alex Alicia, which is run by one of the drivers featured on the ESL TV show!
This and several others run out of the massive Nestle depot in Bardon, Leics, so not a common spot at all!

Chiltern Cold Stores magnificent new MP4 Actros Gigaspace! This company have been updating their fleet with various new vehicles just recently, but this is by far the best IMO. What a stunning looking rig! smokin

Oh, and i dunno if Funbus still checks back on this thread, but i'm sure he'd like this one just as much as i did! -

Beasty Mid Wales based Gary C Wright R730 on bale lugging duty! cool

I know the chap who runs that field and the 3 others to the side and behind it, a very nice chap. He offered me a run in the Combine and who am i to refuse?! smile

It was a tidy little machine, made to grunt a bit more compared to the other two Lexions i've been on (Both fitted with front tracks) this season so far!

I've taken quite a few snaps similar to those over the past couple of weeks, just as long as as you keep your distance from the cutter bar when the machine is working its all good! biggrin

Thanks James. Now I want a chocolate bar!

Glad you've been back up to the bridge. And found enjoyment.

Still gutted you missed that plane on Tuesday.

If anyone local saw it around 3pm flying very low over Eaton Socon out to the fields/B645, please could you confirm it's identity? Looked like a WW2 bomber, four engines. I was driving so only glimpsed it. Was hoping James might have snapped it. But he was busy playing with Combines.

I'm assuming it's an autocorrect thing?

Or are they really Lesbians?

Cool.

Hi Sam, yeah i wanted to have a break when i saw the trailer too lol!...

I've been thinking about the mystery plane since too funnily enough, Could a B17 "Sally B" be another possibility perhaps?...

I'm going to the Gransden Show on Sunday. 20th anniversary show this year and they've got a fantastic flying schedule lined up. Battle Of Britain display with two Spitfires (The main Hurricane is "un-serviceable" apparently...) and the strong possibility of a flypast by Vulcan XH558 in the late afternoon too, should be amazing! biggrin

hehe Just a silly farmers nickname for the Claas Lexion combine range, 'tis quite amusing though!

Fantastic machines though, i've been up on 3 over the past few weeks smile -

Sheards new 760 Terra Trac -

Loved this one, real powerhouse of a combine!

I'm here! That is one proper Scania - looks like a rear steer axle on the trailer.

Great Stobart spot - didn't know they'd started running a few gas trucks. I used to plan a lot of loads out of Nestlé in Bardon, I know it well in one sense, but have never seen it!

Loving the Actros, I saw a navy coloured UK registered Actros recently and they really have massive presence.

Pleased you're back on the bridge.

wavey

Yeah i wouldn't be surprised if that trailer had a rear steer bogey on it somewhere, those bales must way a fair bit stacked up like that so something like that would come in dead handy!
That truck is the perfect tool for the job too!

Those little FMs run exclusively out of Bardon i think (the Nestle warehouse is humongous from what i've seen on the telly!) They've just added 10 or so brand new FMs to the fleet working solely on the Coca Cola contract (Probably ties in with Tesco somewhere!) in a plain white livery, bar a coke badge on the door and the Stobart fleet number!
Can imagine you'd need an eagles eye to spot one on the road! They had them delivering coke to Olympic sites IIRC so i guess they'll end up getting wrapped in the full livery at some point as the fleet is undergoing ANOTHER expansion at the moment! (Huge numbers of new Scanias mainly for ESL plus AW Jenkinson, but 2 brand new Iveco ECOStralis tractors have entered service too...)

Loved the Chiltern MP4, its good to see theres quite a few entered service with several recognisable fleets just recently. Heres a few of the others i've had the pleasure of -

cool

Hansons there have put quite a few on the road apparently. Not a fleet i took much notice of in the past TBH, but they're certainly more noticeable now though!

Still longing for a glimpse of one of Stobarts MP4s...

Until I read your last sentence I was going to ask if you'd seen a new Stobart MP4. The Hanson unit looks bloody smart - I still reckon Lomas will end up with them. I'd like to think DSV might - now they would look well.

I saw a Scania V8 R-series the other day sounding amazing - it was the unit painted in the Shrek theme, the medium blue. It was great to see it in service.

Yeah still waiting for a Stobart MP4 unfortunately... They're used on European work mainly (Accompanying the F1 and World Rally Teams Stobarts supply and sponsor lugging spare parts and stuff) so they're always going to be few and far between i think unfortunately. Although having said that, i saw a few pics from someone on Facefeck who went to Crick the other day and bagged 2! Theres still 2-3 full liveried MP3 units doing the rounds as well!

I'm sure i read somewhere the other day that Lomas had acquired a few units... DSV livereied ones would indeed look great too!

I'd really be keen to see one in Frontier Agriculture colours too! One of my fave fleets at the moment. Biggest arable grain and fertiliser specialist in the country IIRC and their biggest yard is just a stones throw up the A1 from me at Sandy!
Their rigs are a nice deep pastel blue sort of colour and they all pull these very eyecatching bulk trailers with the names and faces of people who work in various parts of the company!
They've got a couple of real nice MANs working along with loads of DAF CF85s, but they're due a load of new DAF XF105s imminently which look rather fetching...

I've been seeing a beasty bright orange old skool 164 530 V8 with straight stacks on it over the past few days i've been out. Sounds like pure thunder chugging along and then it shakes the bridge when passing underneath! Beast! biggrin

Well, Motor Transport are back to work and I had this weeks issue arrive this morning - Knights of Old have their first Ivecos on order (7.5t and 18t Eurocargos). And Fowler Welch have 130, MAN TGX's on order (delivery over three years). Scania were running an advert which featured a Scania R730 operated by Grampian Continental (A14 BYM) - very smart.

Just a few bits for you to keep an eye out for over the coming months!
