I was on a mission today too funnily enough hence why i may have appeared out of breath when you pedalled past lol!
Had just been to see Brightmans crop sprayer at work (Proper big beast! Unusual as its powered by air pressure... ) which i'd be meaning to do for some time. Guess you might have seen it too in passing -
Glad you liked the Eddies! Spotting those trucks and finding out their names/numbers has become a bit of a habit now!... I'd love to visit one of their depots...

Hi James,
Do you ever spot any of our (Fairline's) boats being transported down the A1? They are quite a spectical, especially when the police have to stop the traffic to allow the trailer to lower and crawl under the water tower bridge at Eaton Socan. Usually happens once a month or so and they are covered in a transpot tarpaulin.
Regards,
Olly

Yes mate i might well have done, this particular one went past me earlier in the week -
Had a company safety vehicle and two police outriders with it, they had a hell of a job positioning it to get under the bridge! (BiB made up a rolling block that must have had a good mile and half long tailback!)
Also saw this one a few weeks back too -
Surprising how many proper heavy haulage operators use that bit of road! Always an awesome sight tho'

Hi James,
Good to see some of our 'toys' holding up the national road network!!!
The first one is a Squadron 65, which is quite a beastie - but not nearly as tight a squeese as our Squadron 78 is when it goes under that bridge. In fact that bridge is the govening factor for us when it comes to designing the height of new boats. Lets just hope they don't add to much more tarmac to the A1 (like they did a few years back)!
The second, smaller, one is a Targa 50, a boat I have a lot of time for. It was the first one that I designed the the whole of the outside shape of. Just a shame its covered up when you spotted it. Without the tarpaulin it looks like this:

I've seen your boats a few times down the A1, quite a presence they have You have a nice eye for design as well, lovely looking boat. If you ever fancy showing a fellow TVR owning PHer around one you know where I am...... Good to see some of our 'toys' holding up the national road network!!!

Yeah, thats a real shame they covered it up, that is stunning! Nice work!
thankfully that section of the road looks to be in good condition for the time being!...
Other haulers have a tricky time navigating the bridge there too, this one had to think twice! -
This company specialises in hauling oversized construction machinery and equipment. That Piledriver on the back was absolutely immense!
Nice truck too, a Volvo FH16 (700 BHP, although the newly launched one now has 750! Beast.)

13:40 today???
If it wasn't you, I have waved at some random who likes hanging about on the end of a bridge!
Probably contemplating whether to jump or not. Your chirpy approach to motoring has either made him realise there are happy people out there, or really rattled his can.....If it wasn't you, I have waved at some random who likes hanging about on the end of a bridge!
The dangers of waving.
