There was a diesel locomotive on a huge trailer parked just before Buckden Roundabout this morning, not sure when that would be heading south....

Nice! I got out just after mid-day for a few hours this afternoon and it must have already been and gone by then.. frown

Theres been more enormous wind turbine parts pass through here in the last week or so though. En route to a big installation up at Langford near Biggleswade IIRC. The very well turned out fleet of Give Svaergods (Danish firm in partnership with Bill Livingstone Trans who run out of somewhere near Glasgow I think) have been on the job this time around! cool -

Nice!

They are building a small wind farm just south of Biggleswade South roundabout - have you seen the HUGE ones going up to the west of Kimbolton/near Rushden somewhere? I'm working at Thurleigh at the moment and you can see them clear as anything from there! eek

You may well have seen it already James, but Benton Brothers of Lincolnshire have a new Actros on fleet.
yes

They've acquired 4-5 MP4s I think. They look stunning in their livery too! Would live a winning shot of one, hope I don't have to wait too long as they are quite common up and down the section of the A1 I watch smile

Speaking of MP4s... I saw what I think is the nicest looking one I've yet seen the other day! -

Chiltern Cold Storages newest GSC unit finished in their alternate dark blue livery! Spot on IMO! smokin
I met with the MD/owner of Chiltern last week (really nice chap). I complimented him on how well turned out his fleet is and he told me that the drivers who 'get' keeping a truck gleaming drive the nice stuff. Drivers who just see a truck as a truck get the more standard looking stuff.

He even drives on occasion. The last time he did, the driver of the truck he was going to use called him from Spain while on holiday to politely ask if he could keep the truck as he found it! The driver was asking the owner of the truck that?!

Didn't know there was one going up near Kimbolton! They seem to be popping up all over the place at the moment, big business it seems!

I saw a couple of pics of the Beds installation earlier. Massive cranes up hauling the parts into place. Looks mega impressive! cool

I can believe that! biggrin

I think its good they encourage the drivers to look after their motors and take good pride in them. Not an especially big fleet either for the type of work they do so they always usually look cracking.

Their lads spend ages prepping the rigs on their yard too (I know a couple through Faceache) they were even at it at Truckfest this year too in their maiden display! I got to have a close look and a sit in their dark blue R440 Topline. got a fully customised interior too (Griffins on the door panels. lining etc) a pure stunner no two ways about it!

I was told they've just taken delivery of another dark blue MP4 Actros on a 63 plate along with a new shape Iveco Hi-Way. Looking forward to seeing both of those at some point smile

I reckon Mr Sheen would definitely approve of this fleet considering all the polishing and cleaning they do! biggrin

I saw a Chiltern Sprinter earlier, that looked clean and smart.

Not sure why my van has never been sign-written, I often have my motives questioned when I arrive at drops/collections.

Cheers Andy. Yes it was a good sesh IIRC. Think that was the afternoon I saw the pair of HC Wilson V8 Scanias going south with these massive 38m steel girders on their backs! -

Hi Andy. wavey

Real good out there today, plenty of good and new stuff to be picked up for shots. smile

Had a day out with my buddy from Wisbech yesterday. Had an hour or so at my spot and then headed over to another top photting bridge over the A14 at Hemmingford Abbots which was great. Picked up a ton of stuff there (More winning Stobart motors than you could shake a stick at, numerous new shape Volvo FH's including two FH16-750s, loads of desirable container haulers, so on and so forth!...) Plenty of stuff to look through still, but I like to be kept busy! biggrin

Hi Sam and Andy wavey

I thought the rain had drifted away by the time I decided to have a quick look see up the road this afternoon!... It pelted down shortly after Andy passed by lol!... redface

Hopefully it'll be nicer out tomorrow as my buddy from the Fens has another trip to my spot and the A14 planned... smile

Hi Sam, did you have a good cycle in the sun!? :-)

Referance GPR1X number plate, I've seen it at the new renovated house near the River Mill. Not sure if he live there or if was the project manager for the renovation.

Hi James, I got drentched - have a good day down the A14.

Just out of interest - who do you know those girders are 38m long? Is there some sort of truckers underground intelligence system at work?
