lol! wavey

Cheers all. Was out for a few hours on Wednesday afternoon too, my 1st sesh of the new year. Have Had some very good stuff between then and today.
Been seeing more wind turbine parts being hauled off somewhere over the past couple of days, Colletts are on the job again, travelling in packs of 3-4 wagons at a time! cool
Will try to remember to come back and post a few shots up of those. The 90 odd ton Liebherr bulldozer I saw being transported today was quite some sight also!... smokin

Possibly to the new wind farm site just south of Biggleswade. Was 'great' to see all of them closed down over the Xmas period because it was too windy. Really, what kind of policy is that; windmills that can't work in slightly blowy conditions! furious

Any ideas what model of Liebherr it was MC? I work at the Biggleswade depot and the largest dozers we have in there are the 764, around 65 tonnes with the blade and ripper on. They're a pretty serious piece of kit! Thankfully the yard boys load them on and off the lorries. Either way we get some properly impressive rigs turn up in the yard.

Hi Sam wavey, I didn't see you - cycling or driving?
We were off to Loves Farm to play football.

Was indeed a fully kitted out 764 I saw, some beast for sure! -

Not quite as hefty as I assumed, but still some lump of metal there. Seen a couple of big CAT dozers pass through on occasion before, but I think this was quite possibly the biggest Dozer I've yet seen cool

I'd love to see some of the stuff that comes in and out of the yard there! I've seen and snapped rigs from Les Searle and the local lot from S.A Smith loaded with Liebherr kit from there several times before. smile

Couple of other snaps from this past week.

Demolitions spec long reach Doosan excavator travelling with SJH All Plants XF105 -

A couple of Turbine parts being moved by Colletts. Was particularly impressed with the 8x4 Volvo FH16 with the enormous Nacelle section on, some motor and load right there! -

Not sure what site these parts were being taken too, but I think the Biggleswade farm parts were supplied by Bill Livingstones fleet who I caught for shots a couple of months back.

Unfortunately not today!

Did see a bright yellow C6 Corvette pass by northbound though. Looked great, but far too quick for me to get a shot!... grumpy

Very nice! We've had two 764s in recently, both off of the rental fleet so it would've been one of those. Both have had track refurbishments... to some degree. It's a constant battle between the engineers and the money men, replace this bit, but don't replace that bit even if it's knackered. Funnily enough the machine pictured I believe is one I have done a fair bit of work on. Changing the tapered bearings in the lower rollers and their arms. 50 tonne Enerpac and a 14lb sledge eventually had them moving!
If I remember to take my camera into work I'll try and get a few snaps for you if that'd be of interest

Nice! Wow, sounds an impressive beast to work on for sure! Bet the track refurbishments take some doing on one of those!... yikes

Would definitely be interested in seeing some pics of some of the kit there for sure, much appreciated! smile

Had another right old lump pass through on its way south last week that I was able to pick up for a shot. 50 ton CAT 775E quarry dump truck! (Ex Tarmac) -

Also of note. One of Hutchinsons newest Mercedes Actros 4165 "Titan" units (Custom built for heavy haulage applications. 650hp + the latest turbo clutch) on the move with a 58 ton Juttan PM 20 piling rig loaded aboard -

You might see some nice agri stuff on the move with the big LAMMA show up at Peterborough the next day or so - it was bloody gridlock for 10miles around this morning irked That event has your name all over it!

Yeah, think I would indeed enjoy that show!...

Did see a big Fendt Vario being moved on the back of a wagon this afternoon (Had Sumo stickers on the front weights so I assume its on display at the show with someone) funnily enough!

Will most likely head back out again tomorrow at some point. would indeed be good to catch some nice kit being moved up to LAMMA... cool

wavey

Was rather quiet this afternoon... tumbleweed

Was a bit too dark to attempt a shot of that Corvette I saw the other night, but strangely enough I did see a very tidy C4 'Vette on the road not too long after you cycled by today! Will get the shot up later smile

One thing of particular note from last Friday afternoon. H.C Wilsons "European Colossus" (Scania 164G 580 V8 Topline) travelling past southbound with a massive Terex quarry dump truck! -

Believe this was a backload (Cadzow up in Bonnie Scotland usually lug these around. Often going off for export) thought it was another Fairline yacht when I initially clocked it approaching! biggrin

wavey

See the Flickr link on my profile page for todays selection, but of specific note from this afternoon! -

Not sure of the exact weight of this beast (Think it was just a *Tad* smaller than the 1200 tonner I saw on the road last summer!) but what presence none the less! Sarens' Terex Demag TC2800-1 crane. smokin

Another one that held the southbound traffic up for a little while lol! Collett Heavy Transports very smart MAN TGX.41.680 V8 8x4 making steady progress with an enormous Linde Telescopic handler of some kind loaded aboard! Think it might be a ports spec high reach stacker perhaps.
