James, what's happened to your lunch time photography session? I was going to write 'where's James' and there you were driving through town at 6.19 this evening

We've had literally nothing of interest in work for the last few weeks  The daily Drummond trunker arrived to day with a brand new double decker trailer, first time it had ever been used

I'll have to go out up the road early afternoon tomorrow (if it isn't raining) so you can spot me again lol!... I saw you in town this evening also from the Cambridge St lights was wondering who'd spot who first!  Nice BBWF pics on your site BTW, love the SEAC line up in particular!

I really like these teardrop style Step Frames  Stobarts have just put a small number of trailers very similar to that on the fleet, working out of Sherburn or Goole i think. Saw a pic of one behind one of their Volvo FM gas trucks the other day which looked particularly tidy. I like some of the refrigerated aerodynamically shaped steppers too.

Apologies to anyone who might have been looking out for me this past week. Had a bit of a nasty experience with a couple of yobbos up there on Sunday evening which has shook me a bit... What with the Harvest looming too i'm starting to concentrate my photographic efforts into that now increasingly so i might have to divide my time between the bridge and the fields in the next couple of months or so!

Cheers  Yeah, i've been snapping arable agricultural stuff for ages (I just like BIG stuff lol!). One of my photos from last harvest won a competition and got on the cover of Farmers Weekly last September! Thanks for the link.
I saw a brand new (looked so clean it could have been its first outing) Stobart unit yesterday which was a bit different - a Scania R440, 4x2 and was sitting low like the European tractors do. Named 'Bertie'. Pulling a curtain sider with Moffett on the back.

Interesting sounding truck! The only Scania lowliners i know of like that work on Stobarts World Rally Team fleet (They use Mercs on the F1 delivery contract) pulling mega trailers full of car parts and stuff! They're the only trailers (Aside from the customer liveried Elite Dreams truck) that have Moffett pigs mounted on too. There were a few '07 reg tractors (Which are very old for Stobart standards!) including a couple of R500s which i guess could have been replace perhaps. Good spot that none the less though!  My mate took a great pic of 3 brand new 12 reg Stobart R440s with containers in convoy on the A14 the other afternoon! (All had the same sized MSC boxes too!) En route to Felixstowe i think he said!

There have always been buttholes hanging about near there who use the concrete track for their illegal motocross thrills. I used to live just off Nelson Road. I must say, one of the reasons I moved out of St Neots in 2006 was the increasing glut of undesirables in the 14-18year age group who seemed to be swamping the town. I got sick of their antics and couldn't see things getting much better in the future with all the housing developments appearing. It's a lovely town but growing too fast.

Its knocked my confidence a bit TBH... To elaborate a little further, i was accosted by 3 hoody types who had several garden tools on them (A pitchfork and a shovel!) got a load of verbal off them, which i did my best to take no notice of, and then the one with the shovel decideds to show off and proceeded to put it up to my face... I thought the little fecker was going to brain me... Called the police straight away when i got back home and they caught all 3 of them hanging around a bus shelter just down the road! They were dealt with by the way of "restorative justice" IE a crime was logged (Section 4 Public Order IIRC) and all 3 got a serious b  king and the main offender (the one with the shovel, who was only 15 FFS!) got a ride home to mum and dad and was made to produce an apology note within a week or end up getting nicked! And i haven't received that note yet FWIW... The scrambler bike riders usually head off toward the substation (Across the fields sometimes which i know annoys the local farmers a great deal!) by and large they've never bothered me, but i know a few dog walkers who regularly use that path who have differing views though!... I've never experienced an incident as bad as the one ^ in all the time i've been going up there to take pics. Think i might give the weekend sessions a knock on the head and go out as usual during the week. Could be a bit tricky now that the summer holidays are imminent though!... :@

Strange how they are never have the balls when they're alone, Cheers John, i will get back up there again, as i do enjoy it very much, but what with the promise of better weather this coming week i intend to be out roaming the local countryside looking for a few combines! ETA - Nice to see a brand new 12 reg Stobart R440 outside of St Neots Food Packaging on Wednesday evening. Winner! -

Very tidy looking 105. Interesting to see it attached to a Currie European trailer though! (A member of the new Harlequin Logistics group so i guess they outsource work to some of the Johnny Foreigners) The liveries on some of the foreign units is bewildering. I've seen 'em all from plain jane white to fully airbrushed cabs! I saw this beauty the other afternoon. Van Bentums are easily one of the very best overseas hauliers IMO! -  I need to start getting up the bridge again more often actually as i really want to start building a list for these chaps -  Frontier have a big depot based just up the A1 @ Sandy. Proof that just a decent colour with some nice graphics makes a nice eyecatching livery
