I want to like the new FH, really I do - I just think the Volvo symbol/logo immediately under the screen is silly and should be in the massive void they've created.
Yeah i know what you mean, could have cut that vast space of ugly bare plastic down to a much more considerable size!

I think they should have just refreshed the current FH grille design personally "If it ain't broke..."

On a tangent again, but i've a bit of good news for you Mr Bus! Just seen this on Flickr and it would appear Lomas Distribution were listening! -

cool

Seen elsewhere today that Stobarts Crick Depot have had a little batch of brand new 12 reg Volvo FM gas units arrive in the last day or two (Ex plain whit Coca Cola liveried units) working on general haulage and they look rather good i must say!

cool

Yeah the Autologic fleet ingestion/reincarnation has indeed begun!

Must say i think the transporters in Stobart colours look great! There should be a few more on the road soon as the big depot ESL run up Foundary Lane in Widnes has several in waiting to wrapped at the moment going by a few pics i saw on a fan page the other day (Plus several brand new 62 reg top weight draw-bars!) Can't wait to spot one!

It'll be interesting to see how the Autologic acquisition pans out commercially for Stobart. I'll be watching with interest.

I started my career in car transport and loved it - I'd go back into it in a heartbeat if the right opportunity came up.

Yeah its quite interesting for sure. I think one of the intentions Stobart had when they bought 'Logic out was to give them a big push into Europe and tie the business into Stobart Rail along the line (pardon the pun lol!) somewhere.

They might even start transporting delivery trucks for Tesco!... biggrin

The extra length semi-trailers are in general use - usually on trunking operations. I've seen a United Biscuits one and a few others. Very, very good idea in my mind and pleased they were approved.

I saw a picture of the new Daf XF the other day - it looks like a Fisher Price toy. Not a fan.

Haha. I was going to spot you going for a 'drive thru' picking Kerry & her cups up outside the Pig yesterday too! I was in traffic at the lights on New St heading out on to the High St when you came across. wavey

Afternoon James...I'd just picked one of mine up from Rugby, it was almost 6pm!!

wavey Sam

I was opposite you in the front of the Yaris (Thats cost £300 in repairs this week!!... :@ ) when you pulled up to pick up your Mrs Andy! It was another one of those "whose going to spot who" moments, but you weren't hanging around lol!

yes

There are a few about, Wincanton, Currie European and, of course, Stobarts have or have been trialling extra long trailers too smile

Must admit, the new XF is nicer on the eye than the new Volvo FH, but as far as i am concerned the MP4 Actros and the all new MAN TGX are the top of the 44T tree at the moment! cool

See here for more of the latter smile -

Oh no. Not good about the car.

I didn't think Andy was hanging about either...I feared for Kerry's cups.

Its all been sorted now thankfully, managed to destroy a front and rear spring in the space of a day after its MOT... You can't make some of this stuff up!...

It'll be taking me to the Gransden Ag society show for the day tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing what kind of delights the local tractor dealers bring along!... biggrin

Looks like Maxim Logisitics (Corby, Northants) have invested in a nice new MP4 Merc!

Caught sight of this beauty heading north earlier - cool

Their various DAF and Volvo units are a fairly familiar spot, but this looked a real cut above! Stunner! biggrin

Sorry for my absence at lunnchtime today if Andy rode past. I went out before 9am this morning on a tip off that a very special new truck could be making an appearance which unfortunately never materialised so i went back home for a while just before lunch.

One of my old bosses is Operations Manager for Maxim. Useless fact for your there.

What was the tip off you had James - able to share?
