couldn't agree more, I'm gonna put the Live and Let Live idea on hold, not wishing the rock the boat or cause any divisions, im here to enjoy myself. I am sorry to not know your name but there was a Gent who has been at the previous 3 meets who was kind enough to stand and talk to me about one of my favourite cars, his Gallardo Superleggera. leant all sorts i didn't know about. There was also a little lad wandering around with his mum who i heard say 'Mummy if i work really hard at school can i have a Green Lamborghini like that man?' Isn't that great! thats what I have loved about these meets as much as a having a breakfast and going for a run. STICKY3 said: Gents, things getting a bit out of hand me thinks! firstly, change of venue was news to me! my views are why fix whats not broken!! bearing in mind with cars on display and spectator cars there were 43 cars a venue which holds a maximum of 25 cars will be to small bearing in mind we want to be able to walk around the cars without breaking mirrors off etc, secondly although the whole concept of this idea was a meet was for supercars, the previous events could not have been possible without the support of others attending, most photographed car last meet has to be Kev`s martini porker cost him as much as a top line vauxhall corsa, doesnt have to bring the f50 or CGT to get peoples attention, car which did it for me was Pete`s renault, lovely car, hardly in the supercar bracket but caught my eye!! we are a small gathering of like minded people, can we leave politics behind it doesnt matter how much it costs, how quick it is if you love your car bring it along!!

ben, as i said, i think you should run with a live and let live meet for the 14th october..... take ownership, start a new thread, see who signs up...... ours is not an exclusive club, and people can choose to come and go to whatever they want..... happy to help you put together a run, though can;t come myself..... call it a PH Beds/Herts meet to open it up....

i'll be at the fly on the 28th mate, it's my local and I worked there for 3 years so I wanna support them just as much as you guys do. Probably will think about the Live again at some point when It can include more of you, afterall theres no rush of these things ay. Come speak to me about your car at the next meet mate, massive Gallardo fan and at the risk of offending anyone, (wispers) thats the colour i'd have it in! but also ask me about mine, might be a story you'd apreciate even if it is a corsa that I park out of view. Trust me. 70proof said: ben, as i said, i think you should run with a live and let live meet for the 14th october..... take ownership, start a new thread, see who signs up...... ours is not an exclusive club, and people can choose to come and go to whatever they want..... happy to help you put together a run, though can;t come myself..... call it a PH Beds/Herts meet to open it up....

Ben let us know if anything does go down and I will try to get there, the 28th run is obvoiusly off limits to me. my car doesnt do 200 either.... you've not been relegated mate...... 28th wouldnt be right without ya'.... what i was try to say to ben was that a non supercar PH meet attracts cars of the highest calibre.... dblue is coming in a porker.... indeed, i checked first if he was available before setting a date!!!! OK enough said, just thought that there were lots of people who do not have "supercars" and I really dont do elite'ism, I think I took your comment out of context All I want to do is go out and have a great day, admire others dream cars and meet new like minded people. I will never forget where I've come from, driving 20 odd year old bangers....and they were my pride and joy. Looking forward to the 28th....hope we're still cool

70proof said: okay, car clubs have to have signed up by the 18th september...... so we can;t go as the fly supercar club, we can however join the PHEA display.... http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...i have asked iluvmercs if there is a list or is it by PM only..... think i am going to apply to drive, though need to check with insurers re this as it is on track... might be good fun just to be there and hear the cars running on track whilst also raising money with our cars parked up.... lets start a list.... tonyF - drives if accepted, else PHEA display 70proof - drives if accepted else PHEA display evo9ution - PHEA display BarryP - assume you will apply to drive? DBlue - again, applying to drive? I have emailed Kev Foley who is organising this event to see if he still has room for a Clophill Super Car stand as both 70proof and myself have contacted the East Anglian crowd and not heard anything back. I'm sure if we can get the usual Clophill crowd over to Snetterton we would have a very impressive display of cars.

do you know how much 1 day cover for a gallardo is, may be my achilles heel if too much... I've seen your worried about the track insurance mate. It's understandable with such a lovely motor but the majority of cars on UK track days run uninsured. 1 Day cover is very expensive (£100s) and if you say the words "passenger ride" they'll run a mile. Track Days are very safe when run properly and this event is definitely that. Keep within your limits, listen to the briefing and don't be goaded into being a hero. Snetterton is pretty safe with large run offs and should suit the Lambo very well. Weather is a little unpredictable that time of year but fingers crossed. (It's a bit trickier on ice )

i'll come off the fence as it's getting a little uncomfortable...
i've seen accidents on tracks, i've seen accidents on roads
on balance, i'd rather run a car without insurance on the public road than on a track

can;t afford any incident in the car, not so much financially, but the OH!!!! might just be joining the display.... biggest issue for me is someone spinning in front of me and being so committed you can but hit the poor person....

I wouldnt bother with insurance, just drive within "your" limits and keep a decent gap between you and the car in front on track, enjoy the day. I have done more trackdays than I care to remember (taking part & instructing others )and have never insured my cars, common sense prevails on days like this so im sure you will be ok.

The only issue with that is what comes up behind you...its easy to 'hang back' from an idiot in front but not so easy to 'keep ahead' of a loony behind!
Personally I'd run on track un-insured FWIW
