Hi all,

we just moved to Oaklands, near Welwyn, just under a month ago. I've already met a couple of custom/hot rod fans, and there's a 911 convertible with a motorhome parked next to it just round the corner. Apart from the Goat meet, what else goes on round here?

Any local PHers up for a get together? Would be nice to meet some of you who know the area.

How does WGC compare to Vulcan? wink

You should pop up to the Clophill Supercar meet, third Sunday of every month (listed in this section).

I used to go to Oaklands College but I doubt I could help you that much as that was quite a while ago. St. Albans is always a good night out though if you don't mind a short drive / bus journey?

I've recently moved to the Hitchin area, and would be interested in meets in the area. Have just got myself a 2008 Mini Cooper and would be up for some drives to get to know the roads around the area and the car too!

It's a dark blue C4S with a blue motor home on the drive. Big Le Mans sticker on the motor home.

5 mins from Oaklands here, a meet would be great but I'm afraid all I have to offer is a slightly battered looking Range Rover Classic hehe

Hope you enjoy the area, I'm fortunate to have lived here all my life smile

ETA: Just visited your profile and noticed your Maserati, I think I passed you last night going under Welwyn viaduct? I was in a friends off-road modded Ford Ranger.

Where's that pub we all used to meet at? I don't mind being point-man and arranging something with them

Someone else will have to organise the runs etc.

Edit: Cowper Arms, thats the one!

I'd be interested in going on a few runs, never done it before at all, so would go to a meet/meets if there was one organised. Don't know the area well enough or know of anyone that would go on a run or to meets so Im not the best to try and put something together! As I mentioned in a previous post, would be great to get to know the roads around here better and the car too.

Think we can sneak a meet before the ste weather heads in? Gives me an excuse to keep the Kawasaki out the garage for another few weeks!

Since I don't have anything interesting actually in one piece or running properly, I'll be along in the Jag. The Cowper Arms is nearby - what about the afternoon of the 12th?

Coles Green, they've had us a few times before and we usually get a good turn out

Shall I speak to them about the last Sunday of this month? (26th) or First Sunday of November? Whens the Clophill meets or have they stopped now, dont want to clash

Cowper Arms good for me. Only 2 mins away. Alternative suggestion - The Candlestick just outside Essendon. I am friendly with the owners and they have a LOT of space. Hard parking for about 20 ish cars but a huge field to the side. I'm sure I could get them on board to do bacon sarnies and coffees. It's also a very safe location as it's on a very quiet road with massive gardens for kids to run about in safely if anyone happens to bring theirs.
