Afternoon

I currently live in MK and work in London, the Mrs works in MK. I get the train, she drives.
We're looking to move in the next year or so and we're looking for a good size 4 bed detached with a double garage, budget is around £400k.

Current thoughts are to stay in MK, but that makes the garage requirement tricky, or to look to Bedford or Northampton.

Am I missing anywhere I should also be looking, to get what we are after?

Just outside Milton Keynes in Deanshanger. Nearest train station is Wolverton (only a few miles).

We have recently bought one, personally prefer the village location to Milton Keynes, and prices although now rising still represent good value compared to Milton Keynes, 4 beds £300k upwards (with very generous single garage; can easily fully open doors both sides on a family sized car). The 5 beds with double garages are about £400k.

This is in Clapham near Bedford.

I also think you'd get a better response in the homes and gardens section.

Bit of a PITA for the station though as traffic is very congested in Bedford around peak times.

Yeah, i'd want to cycle to the station, not sure if Clapham is the best location for that!

Nice house though, i've already got it on my saved list in rightmove biggrin

A very good spot if you have kids.

The development has lots of play areas and it's in the catchment for Sharnbrook school which is well rated.

Bedford station is three miles.

The best villages are Bromham and Biddenham but of course they are pricier, that house is very good value I'd say. No vested interest in it.
