Luton airport access

I have ambitions to catch a flight from Luton airport on Saturday morning. Approaching via the northbound M1 and hopefully getting to the airport about 8AM. Given the roadworks at Jct 10 how much extra time should I allow? I did hear that the diversion involves leaving the M1 at Jct 11 then driving south east through Luton.

Didn't notice a diversion when I went there a few weeks ago and definitely didn't have to drive through Luton.
Yes there were roadworks and a bit of traffic but probably 5 min delay max.

Unless the roadworks have got more extensive recently?

If you're being dropped off, make sure you bring change for the drop off zone. Cameras and barriers are used to enforce the no drop off on the road rule.

Better to turn right into mid-term, where the first xx-minutes are free...
