That caused a lot of trouble today, and perhaps one of the worst days for it as well. Anyone else get caught in the aftermath? It should be a 45 minute trip home for me on a Friday from Croxley to Hertford (although perhaps not this one due to the time of year), but it took 2 hours 20 minutes tonight.

Watford was at a standstill so I headed south, east then north again to get to Bushey Arches via Northwood, then onto Borehamwood and the A1.

Yes - I was going round the opposite way between the M1 and the A41 and gloating.......
........ but as soon as I left the M25 and entered on to the A41 I was stuck!
It was stop start all the way to Hemel where it eased but it was even worse for those heading south towards the M25.

I had earlier endured the Watford area too, and also was subjected to slight chaos on the M1 where a Vespa with L plates was being driven slowly in the outside lane!!!

Altogether the worst traffic day for me I can remember.
