Wow this has got a bit heated.....I think perspective is needed yes wheelspin and reving are not ideal however a lot of money was raised by these guys today of for a children's hospice charity so try not to put the boot in too hard as I was one of them. I agree that noise for the residents should be kept to a minimum but does that mean because my car is 14 times as loud in dB terms as a Ford Focus that I should be regarded as as noisy Chav?
I didn't say all of the supercar drivers were chavs - it really wasn't a blanket statement - but there were a couple who started to spoil it. Also, raising money for charity doesn't give someone an automatic free pass to drive like a bell-end in a public car park.

I know your car and I know you weren't one of the offenders, so please don't think my ire is directed at you. It isn't.

If people want that, I'm not going to argue; I have no control over and no say on what goes on in a public car park. It's just not for me.

I'm a car guy and love all cars. I also love the St Neots meets. Low key, friendly bunch.

All people today, other than some excessive revving of a Lambo and some McLaren launch control action, were well behaved and largely respectful.. let's not over react!

The issue is sghtly different. St Neots is the wrong venue for that volume of cars and that volume of super cars, with the corresponding and accompanying 'spotters'!

If this is to be a regular visit by the exotica, then I would suggest a new venue would be advisable, else the low key friendly bunch who meet once a month, may well loose their meeting place! .

Apologies if a couple from our group caused any upset, I'll drop them a message.

I am the owner of the meeting venue and organiser of said Chav meet earlier, I brought my Bentley out on the run.

'Chav' couldn't be any further from the truth, the people at my event were nothing more than Gentlemen (and a few ladies).

Hopefully catch up with a few of you in the future, I'm a Bedfordshire resident.

I like the St Ñeots meeting, and don't want to see it ended because of complaints by the locals.

It only takes one or two Nimby's and the event is finished.

Worth coming for a few minutes to see that 918...

...I'd really like to organise a run in summer, on the basis that people behave.
918 was quite a beast.
A run would be wicked. There are lots of other meets worth attending or perhaps a visit to Gaydon https://www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk/ or even fish 'n' chips at Aldeburgh or something would be grand. Bring it on when the Sun reappears thumbup

If anybody else is interested, I'm off to The Bell in March - nice little gathering with a good mix of vehicles. A bit like a smaller St Neots meet

It clashes with the Boosted event at the Akeman Inn but I like Adam's meet at Stoke Mandeville better having attended a few last year.

But then this all defeats the initial purpose of the local meet. We may as well sign up for Sunday Service. Vicious circle.
We've had a great year of monthly meets. I'd like the 'Cars by the River' to remain as such. And it is doable.
See you next month smile

Personally I think the venue works well, if anyone wants to make a lot of noise, test their launch control or do donuts then a off the public space meet is needed.
If we all have consideration for the people who live 50 yards away who probably aren't into their cars and the fact that families with children are wandering through and I am sure there won't be a problem.

It will be on March 12 - I'll post it up in a few days - but by all means come along. I've always said it doesn't matter what you drive and although I joked the other week about there being 9-10 GTRs there, it was a great turnout for those guys and everyone else. Hopefully the weather will be back!
