Reputable Gearbox Recon or Repair

Sounds like the gearbox on my nephews Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 maybe kaput.

Can anyone recommend a reputable and reliable company to diagnose / repair / or swap out for a recon box.

Obviously trying to avoid the backstreet "give it a pressure wash, a lick of paint, and sell it on as reconditioned" merchants.

The gearboxes will be cheap as chips (~£100), so given the labour and parts sourcing required to repair I'm pretty sure you'll end up buying a used one from a breakers and rolling the dice.

What age of Corsa? If it's old enough that the engine bay isn't packed full of turbos and emissions related pipework and plastics, it might not be particularly complicated to swap yourself...
