I know I said ages ago I'd post some photos of my tractor carting straw, well better late than never and to top it off you can see how stty it is carting straw in winter, the tractor was washed on Friday and I've just taken these photos.

Cracking bit of kit! thumbup

She a full fat 8310? (Can't quite make out the designation from the pics) be interesting to see how the new 8290/330 compares to the older model. (4220 very nice too. I rode shotgun on one bale chasing a summer or two back!)

I see the JWB lads from Sandy way have been carting loads of Hestons up to Ely quite a bit just recently. Go for good money too as long as they don't get too sodden beyond the top string IIRC.

Yeah it's an 8310, it's probably going to be replaced with a new 8330 this summer as despite only being just over 2 years old it's done nearly 5000 hours!
It is lovely to drive though, the 4 wheel suspension makes it awesome on the road, if it did 50mph instead of 43 it would be perfect!
The current shape 4000 series cabs are imho the best jcb have ever made, I've yet to drive the new 8000 for any real length of time but I have high hopes as the cab one this one whilst being good it does have a downside in the that the right hand side of the cab is quite inaccessible

"XX"57 ECZ-a very dirty MG ZT V8 near Flitwick earlier-could swear the gentleman who owns (or the previous owner) it used to be a customer of mine at Evans Halshaw in Luton!?

Anyway, nice to see one out in the wild-you just don't see them much now!

Would appear the 8330 promises to be a very nice replacement going by the write ups I have read thus far. Looks a very well thought out machine with some great features on it.

Crikey that 310 has sure seen a bit of work! Yeah, with that suspension set up it must be in its element carting big loads of bales this time of the year though. Can imagine it would be just as handy on the baler that made them too?

I've been around a few different Fastracs over the years and I was amazed at the improvement the new cab offers, it's vast too! Some good friends of mine had a 2170 from new and the cab got very cramped over the right hand side once all the touch screens for their drill and mounted sprayer were fitted (They do a bit of forestry work too so it got very cluttered very quickly lol!) just replaced that with a new Valtra T Series. (Lovely machine. I was very surprised by it)

Always been impressed with the gearboxes in them too, so well up on the job with all those different modes for different work. thumbup

A silly idea, but maybe you should bring the 310 down to the meet on St Neots riverside on Sunday? put the cat among all the GTRs expected to show up that's for sure! biggrin

Sorry chaps, would have loved to but this time of year it tends to spend weekends moving straw for the cows, I'll keep an eye out and if I'm passing one day I'll drop in with it!

Under the Stevenage Junction as I passed by at 8.30 there was a two car transporter broken down being guarded by wombles and sporting what I think was a McLaren 570s (they all look the same to me) and a new NSX.

Was coming here to post the same, you must have passed through at the same time. Traffic was building up as everyone was slowing to take a look.
