Not sure if its been mentioned here but The Grill in Aylesbury would have a good case at arguing they do the best steaks in the area, everyone around here is raving about it and i can confirm the steaks there are pretty special. Cheap too 12oz ribeye with 3 sides £19.99 and you bring your own beer or wine

- K2 in Hemel does a fantastic Indian.
- George and (the) Dragon in Gravely
- The Marchmont Arms in Hemel is nice for a drink, food's a bit expensive for what it is but it's in no way bad.
And finally if you're on a tight budget and not precious, the Highwayman in Gravely (more on the way to Baldock) does some great chicken skewers, Salad's fking terrible mind you

Had an excellent dinner recently at the Grapevine restaurant in Letchworth. Very good Turkish food, lively atmosphere. One of several new eating and drinking places that are transforming Letchworth - good to see at last.
Been meaning to go there. We're reasonably spoiled compared to 2002 when we moved to the area.Chris Type R said:

You need to book well in advance, esp for weekends. Know what you mean, back then there were a couple of dodgy pubs and some ropey takeaways. Arena Tavern is and always has been brilliant though, love it.
I remember "La Lanterna" which didn't fare well after it was on Kitchen Nightmares in 2005 http://www.realitytvrevisited.com/2011/05/uk-seaso...Gassing Station | Herts, Beds, Bucks & Cambs | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
