I would avoid living on the main road unless you like lots of traffic, all the time. The only exception to the rule is if you live opposite one of the aforementioned dealers!

Any views on Cambourne guys? Going to see a property there this afternoon, and another in Trumpington.

Cheers

Hi guys thanks for all your help so far

I am going to look at a property in Harston tomorrow, just south west of Cambridge. Can anyone tell me a bit about it? Nice place to live? Commute into Cambridge going to take me 2 hours a day?!
Thanks in advance
Nice area and you have the added bonus of a BP petrol station for late night munchies, shop, pubs and a Porsche/Aston Martin garage!

A10 into Cambridge is a dog right from the M11 all the way along Trumpington. It'll take 30 mins. Until the new Addenbrookes bypass is open.

If you need to go to Science park it's ok up until the A10 junction on the A14.

One of my uncles lives in Cambourne. A pleasant enough little community, still very much under construction in some places, but has a Morrisons, a not too bad chippy, indian restaurant and a pub (bit of a barn yard TBH tho') among its growing ammenities. Very much a place built for Cambridge commuters i guess as the A428 runs right alongside it.
Papworth on the otherside of the A428 is a pleasant little hamlet too which is within easy access of all the main Cambridge routes as well

Thanks for all your help guys, am in the process of signing up for a house in Greater Cambourne. Like said above its still got a fair bit of building work going on and is a bit new town, but seems pleasant and the house is really nice. Fingers crossed!

Saw that parked up outside the rugby/sports club there a while back. Lairy green IIRC, looked amazing!
Quite a few TVR owners work around there and use the facilities at Morrisons, well worth keeping your eyes/ears peeled!

Cambourne will be a nice place to be when the all singing all dancing new police station opens there shortly. Wouldnt be surprised if everything that is currently done at Parkside moves there. Should be nice if you like sirens lol.

Yes, I still live there but am BigBen these days. Quite a few PHers in Cambourne, including the lurker who pointed this thread out to me (Maserati 4200, only one in the village I think).

Where is your new place ? I am also in Great Cambourne. I am on my second house in the village and really like it. Can you play Rugby ?

New place is just opposite Morrisons on Broad Street, move in early september. Don't play Rugby I'm afraid but do play squash if you fancy a game any time? Or a beer?! Don't really know anyone in the area so definitely keen to get involved in PH meets/sport/beers

I am quiz master at the Sunday night quiz so come in and say hello one week. There are probably several PHers in the village so perhaps a meet could be set up

Cheers

Oh. It's been over a year since I've been there. Tend to stay locally these days.
