JB! and anyone else in the know - whats so bad about Broughton? I'm considering moving to the MK area and was looking at some of the new builds around Broughton. I need to be near schools (primary and secondary). I also need to travel to Heathrow weekly and am wondering how long this would take on average (not familiar with M1 traffic) - 1 hour realistic?
As a Luton resident, I can help with the Heathrow travel. Well outside the rush hour then one hour is possible. If it's in the rush hour then an average of two hours.spikeyhead said:

A friend who bought a house on broughton tells me he regrets it as most of his neighbours have had their houses given to them by the social and don't seem to take any pride or care in them, there is also little in the way of parking from what I have seen. On the plus side they have a good chippy there!Abs777 said:

Depends entirely on the time you are driving.I do the Bletchley to Heathrow run regularly, it takes under an hour at 5am, averages 90 mins at rush hour if the roadworks aren't on, but I would leave 2 hours to be safe.
Occasionally it takes 3+ hours

Have a look at some of the estates nearer the A421 side of Milton Keynes (Wavendon, Kents Hill etc), now that bypass is open properly it could save you time getting further up the M1 before joining...
Or if you are desperate to get near the M1, come and have a look at Newport Pagnell, love it here and best decision I made was moving here.

Newport is very nice (my sister lives there).
I'm in Leighton Buzzard - we can get on the M1 quite quickly (if you don't go through Dunstable)
Newport is great, currently trying to find a house there to rent.I'm in Leighton Buzzard - we can get on the M1 quite quickly (if you don't go through Dunstable)
WRT Broughton, I have a friend live there and his house is lovely.
Unfortunately though, a lot of the smaller places were bought to let and are rented through the social. As a result, some of it isn't so nice.
Parking's a bit pony, again in some areas.
It's right by where I work. I often see women carrying shopping back to Broughton on their heads (seriously!)

Lets get all PH'ers back to Newport!
I am living in Tankard Close just off the high street in a gated development and parking can be a pain. You get one allocated space and guest parking is a premium but thats Newport in general I suppose.
Does your rent have to have off road parking or just an ideal thing really as I know of a house for rent in Newport with plenty of roadside parking?
