I am indeed. I have the same user name on all my forums (well the Hertford one, and the MR2 ones) as I am easily confused otherwise. Do I know you on Hertford.net? Hope I haven't upset you although I am normally quite benign and don't like winding people up, either in real life or cyberspace.

How do you find most of the 'regulars' on the Hertford forum? A bit small minded and reactionary? I think a lot of them never leave their own homes wink

I find the forum useful for local stuff (like the reason for multiple power outs last night) but I spend much more time on here. Bit more scared on here as some people can get quite aggressive but it is much more interesting. Lived in Ware until August and the two forums (fora?) are much the same.

Ware and Hertford Online are run by the same entity using the same home-brew software. It's useful for local info but there are some right curmudgeons with not a lot else to do on there.

Are you on there regularly? If so, what is your username there?

I don't think I know who you are on there, but at least two of those I'm referring to are female anyway (and they're not Kate) smile

I think I know one of those females rolleyes
Anyway it has it's uses for local stuff but not where I choose to lurk.

I did someone on it quite a big favour recently and have heard nothing from them since, not even a thank you, although the favour was related to helping them out during a massive upheavel so they may not have had time.

Don't let that put you off in the future. Hertford has many faults, but most of the people there are generally some of the nicest you can come across..

Disagree - best thing is live band nights at the Red Lion in the old town!

I moved from Hatfield -> Stevenage (St Nicholas, aka The Bronx) -> Hitchin and can safely say Hitchin is by far and away the best of the bunch.

Stevenage was erm interesting, the amount of pondlife was astounding but I quite like the old town, ie, it would be lovely if the rest of the town didn't exist!

It is still an awful lot better than Hatfield though!

One of my least favourite memories of old town pubs was an evening in the White Hart (which was our local) when a fight broke out and a guy next to me had most of his face cut after being glassed. Lovely place. Lovely people. Best thing I ever did was make a profit as I sold up and shipped out.

My thought for the day. If you have ever worked in Edmonton you will realise that Harlow and Stevenage are actually 5-star luxury resorts.

( all things being relative smile )
