The view from the "Holiday" Inn
The Town Museum (I st you not) and the "Holiday" Inn.
This place is a complete and utter hole. I think my least favourite part is the "Leisure Park", which is too horrible for words - and has anyone else noticed that there are VERY few non-chain stores in StevenHate? It's like they don't have the imagination to get off their arses and start businesses.
One saving grace is Baguette Express, which belies its tacky-sounding name (they're a small-ish franchise) with some top quality lunch fodder. But everything else is st.

It's a fantastic building and at least it's not square and made of concrete. I've just never seen anyone go in (and I lived in the Holiday Inn for months!)
Can you ask your curator friend what the suicide tower next to the museum (displayed in the photo) is all about?!
I will, I guess its to do with the church that sits on its roof! I did ask about the elephant and apparently it was just something someone gave them....Can you ask your curator friend what the suicide tower next to the museum (displayed in the photo) is all about?!
Most people who use the museum seem to be kids to use the bog or nick stuff or druggies who use the gardens to shoot up. At least the Holiday Inn is a spanking new one, I stayed there for a night last Dec and it wasn't bad at all
Dear Mr E30M3SE,
If you own the car indicated by your username, and live in the StevenHate area;
1) Can I have a go? No? Oh well, worth a try.
2) Can you recommend a good local BMW indie? I need to replace the diff carrier bushes on my E46 (I have the dreaded "E46 Clunk") and don't want to entrust it to any old bunch of cowboys.
Thankingyouplease.

1) You've answered your own question, so we'll leave it at that. If you own the car indicated by your username, and live in the StevenHate area;

2) Auto Service & Tuning, located on Bedford Road in Hitchin, behind the Shell petrol station, speak to Claudio or one of the two Bens'.

There is one good thing about stevenage and thats the round-a-bouts, good for practising on at the speed limit! and when quiet though its a shame they turned the traffic lights on permanently on the Coreys Mill roundie
That's pissed me off no end. I use to have great fun round that roundabout. Not anymore. However there are plenty more. The south Stevenage A1M junction RA is good fun though.Every notice how NO ONE can use the Hitchin roundabout? 4/5 days of the working week I have to beep someone for doing something utterly retarded.

Im guessing Cyder your talking as if your coming from Hitchin and go onto the roundie where everyone in the middle lane drifts across?
I have no idea why the lights are on in off-peak conditions, ie midnight, you can see nothings coming and yet you have to wait and knowing my luck, should i jump said lights a police car would no doubt appear from somewhere

Indeed, it winds me up no end, I beeped at someone who nearly took the front of my car off there once and he went absolutely mental at me, I have no idea why as it was him that just wandered across the lanes towards me!I have no idea why the lights are on in off-peak conditions, ie midnight, you can see nothings coming and yet you have to wait and knowing my luck, should i jump said lights a police car would no doubt appear from somewhere
I think the Hitchin->Stevenage Coreys mill roundabout entrance could be signposted better....
The two lanes of the dual carriageway become three lanes without much warning, and whereas previously the nearside lane is marked "North A1(M) / A602" and offside is "South A1(M)", you get to the roundabout to find three lanes, nearside marked "North A1(M)", lane 2 "Stev A602", offside lane "South A1(M)".
If there's the usual amount of traffic waiting to enter the roundabout, you don't even see those markings until the queue has moved off. Then you get onto the roundabout and all hell breaks loose as you pass the first exit when both lane 2 and the offside lane are now marked "Stev A602". Arghhh!!!!!
