Afternoon all.

On the 13th November I'm heading over to Brands Hatch for the 'Into the night' race and was wondering if anyone else is planning on it or if we could make it a bit of a North London/Herts outing?

Clicky for details

From memory, the main race starts at about 4pm and runs until curfew which takes it through sunset and into complete darkness. There's a load of support races too - I think its the MaX5 bunch this year which always turns out some good racing.

Happy to co-ordinate a group booking if people are interested - find somewhere for a spot of grub on the way down perhaps - or just go for 'pig in a bun' at the circuit!

S'funny. Was just talking to Chris71 about the timing of our next meet. This could fit the bill.

Potentially up for coming along.

I'm toy-less currently though, so it'll have to be in the Focus. frown

Don't worry Blib, my pride is a small price to pay.

I think I'm now off to a gig that evening I'm afraid guys, if not I'll come along though. Will check with SWMBO.

If I do get a chance to come along I could bring my new toy by then. biggrin

Unfortunately, I have to bail out of this.

Two reasons. Firstly, I need to back home for 7pm that night.

Secondly, as Chris alluded to in his post. He's bought a new car. Trouble is that he has to pick it up from Edmonton.

Being a yokel, he's too scared to go over there alone. So, he's begged me to take him. In case scary men try to talk to him.

So, we're going along Saturday, mid-morning.

Sometimes I wonder why we let people such as him settle in London.

Well, if that's the case it didn't work... There was a very scary man in Edmonton indeed. A rather sinister, lanky individual with a black Maserati 4200GT. hehe

On a different note. How was the race Doug? Managed to get out my Saturday night commitments at the last minute, but it would have been too late to join you by then.

Never made it in the end - time just ran out on me. On a project at the moment (currently in the hotel bar in Warrington!) so having to save up all the chores until the weekends and by the time I had got everything sorted it was too late. Bit of an arse as it was a cracking meet the last time I went.

Hows the new motor?

What this one?

Going well thanks.

I need to get rid of the boy racer wheels (and dubious Oriental tyres) ASAP, but so far it's living up to expectations. Even the girlfriend likes it. Well tolerates. Just.

The weirdest thing is the visibility. All you can see is this huge bonnet, particularly on the nearside. It makes placing it on the road quite a challenge, particularly at night when you have a pair of elderly glow worms providing illumination.

That sounds like a horribly flimsy excuse mate...

You need to get yourself one of these ->

Having seen him drive the car. So, I would instead suggest this.
