Well, I wouldn't have felt safe in one having read that anyway.

A significant amount of rectification work was carried out on MR2 post Haddon-Cave and the a/c declared safe, especially in light of the fact that AAR was discontinued on the fleet.

What Haddon-Cave didn't address was that a major factor in the loss of XV230 was the way she was being operated, ie AAR with the SCP running (owing to the ambient air temperature over Afghanistan.

Had she not been doing AAR or had the SCP not been running she wouldn't have been lost.
