Which route did you fly into BN?

I've seen a few small helicopters buzzing over the office recently.

Not these chaps from the OP but we've just had a contribution to the Lancaster site I admin (quite a fascinating story about the fate of one Lancaster & her crew). One of the crew members was on a second dickie familiarisation trip prior to rejoining his own crew but perished in the crash.

But now one of his original crew has got in touch, in his 90's and was made up to find the site. He's contributed some anecdotes of his time in the RCAF. Flying Officer James H Boyle RCAF

Wonderful photos and i'm glad you was able to do that for him. So sad to hear of his passing.

I remember back in around 2004 when my old flying instructor introduced me to his brother that was a Lancaster bomber pilot during WW2. I remember him telling me the story of how he got called up from flying sunderlands to go on to the Lancaster with coastal command. His eyes lit up while telling the story as if he was re-living it all over again. smile
