Need to start looking for some rubbing strake. I think Vetus make one for a shoebox hull/deck joint?
Cheers,
Mick
Well you obviously can't be bothered to carve, steam and shape a teak rubbing strake with a routed dovetail groove to accept a nice rubber profile which is the way I would do it. So here are preformed products to help you along - lazy git. Cheers,
Mick

Just caught up on this thread. Can't believe my first post had a 2011 timestamp on it! Can't think where the times gone!
At least you've been busy mickrick!
She's looking great! I'd like something like this in my toybox one day. Can't help thinking i'm too old at 31 to get in to it now, and don't want to be a harbor hard parker!
Keep it up!

It´s O.K. I´m reasonably happy with it, big improvement to what it was, but I wanted them to guide coat the primer, and longboard it.
They seem to have lathered it on in places. It should look better when it´s been nibbed off with some 1500 and compounded.
Just happy it´s finally done. (apart from the non-skid) I´ll be even happier when they´re out of the tent so I can clean up their crap, and start getting some stuff back on.

I´d like to think so, but I still have below the waterline to do, the old engine bed to cut out, and fabricate a new one for the smaller Nanni iron sail.
Mount for the Aqua drive thrust bearing, and the bilges to sand and flow coat.
But it will be nice to start putting some stuff back on

That's looking stunning. But I'll give you a tip...never launch her. It's just so disheartening returning to your as of last week gleaming boat to find rust stains on the deck from the mooring chain, the first few bits of weed around the waterline, a family of critters in your log paddlewheel, and seagull st sprayed liberally over the brightwork...
Not to worry, I look after an 87ft white motor yacht in a port where they unload coal for a power station, we get red rain, and lots of pollen in the spring.
Sometimes after spending three days on a wash-down, I come in the next day to find the boat looking like the German flag!
Not for long though, she´s being signed over on Tuesday.
Strange feeling after watching over the build in Taiwan for over a year, and spending 8 years of my life taking care of her.
I have a month to hand her over though, but after that who knows... A well earned rest for a few weeks I hope.
This little Gem is a reward to myself for nearly 20 years of hard graft in the private yachting industry. My retirement plan

Hi Mick,
The time has come eh ?........sad days looming as well and then a break whilst you take a break to decide what or where to go next ?
Definitely staying in Europe or would you consider the BVI or wherever.
All the very best anyway, as you know you are always welcome here for a break.
We said hello to Muros for you last week, off back down there in Sept in the Vette for a run.
K.T.

Hello Mate, cheers. Not Sure what to do next to be honest. Maybe pick up some re-fit work over the winter and start networking again. I´ve been out of the loop in Palma for quite a few years now. I do need a change.
Maybe have a chat with Nic Clarke at Pure Superyacht Refit in Palma - seem to see his name everywhere.Gassing Station | Boats, Planes & Trains | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
